High-Speed Interconnect Test / Validation Engineer
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000
Job Description
We are seeking a High-Speed Interconnect Test / Validation Engineer to independently execute high-frequency measurements and validation activities for next-generation interconnect technologies. This role involves hands-on test execution, detailed analysis against industry specifications, and direct engagement with customers to review methodology, results, and failure mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up and perform high-speed / high-frequency measurements using VNAs (Keysight, R&S).
- Conduct detailed S-parameter measurements, including insertion loss (IL), return loss (RL/iRL), and crosstalk for cables, connectors, risers, and interconnect assemblies.
- Apply proper calibration and de-embedding techniques such as SOLT and TRL.
- Analyze measurement results against PCIe Gen5/Gen6 and other high-speed interconnect standards.
- Participate in customer-facing technical meetings to explain test methodologies, findings, and failure modes.
- Prepare high-quality test reports and presentations for internal teams and external customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in high-speed or high-frequency testing.
- Practical experience performing VNA-based measurements.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently and communicate technical concepts clearly in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PCI-SIG, OCP, or similar high-speed industry standards.
- Background in cable, connector, or interconnect validation.
- Familiarity with de-embedding, renormalization, and time-domain analysis.
- Experience supporting OEM or hyperscale customers.
